Artfive0 was initiated in 2018 as a means of inspiring imagination and engaging the many creative personalities throughout the region. A multitude of artists living, working, and studying across the GCC submitted a diverse range of proposals as part of a public art competition. The selected piece has transformed a concrete wall of 11 meters high and 53 meters wide into a monumental mural that can be seen in Dubai International Financial Center. I was selected as the competition winner by a carefully selected panel of judges and done one of the most giant murals in Dubai.
I was inspired by my recently adopted rescued dog, Bondo. A Saluki Greyhound desert dog who lived one year in the desert of United Arab Emirates, surviving the heat in the summer and long cold nights in the winter, alone with no pack or family. Aggressive, shy, and insecure, but Bondo has changed and changed me personally with love and empathy; now, he is family and inspiration.
